In addition to the 'Great Barrier Reef' and 'Tropical Rainforests' here are a few more suggestions for many other activities available in and around Port Douglas.

Golfing - Cycling.  There are two pristine Championship Golf Courses in Port Douglas, The Mirage Golf Club and Peppers Links.  Two specialist cycle hire shops offer bikes to suit all ages.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.  Experience 50,000 years of indigenous culture by the  people of the rainforest, including The History Theatre, Traditional Dance Show, Spear and Boomerang Throwing , Didgeridoo Playing and Tjapukai Art Gallery.  The company is owned by the Tjapukai people themselves.

Hot Air Ballooning - White Water Rafting.  Excitement amongst stunning scenery

Wildlife Preservation Centres.  Visit Hartley's Creek Crocodiles at Wangetti.  Your chance to see the huge estuarine crocodiles and the 'freshies' hand fed, up close!!!!    Hartley's Creek is also home to koalas, snakes, lizards, cassowaries, dingoes and many, many more animals native to Australia.

The Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas is a partner with the Wet Tropics Management Authority in the goal of rainforest conservation and education.  The Rainforest Habitat  also has koalas, kangaroos, cassowaries, emus, snakes, and many more rare species.  Informative guided tours are available throughout the day.
