Beautiful palm fringed beaches look out over the Coral Sea. Port Douglas is framed by two natural features of such pristine beauty and exceptional worth that they have been 'Listed' by the United Nations as 'World Heritage' - The Great Barrier Reef and The Daintree Tropical Rainforest. The charming and sophisticated village of Port Douglas has a wide and shady main street with many cafés, shops, art galleries, bars and award winning restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Each Sunday there is a colourful market held in Anzac Park where local farmers sell their produce alongside Arts and Crafts stalls. Four Mile Beach begins at the end of Macrossan Street, where there are facilities for children and a safe netted area for swimming in the sea.
